Nourrine Omar is a PhD candidate at Polytechnique Montréal, co-supervised by Prof. Isabelle Villemure and Prof. Ilyass Tabiai. Her research focuses on the biomechanics of the lung, specifically on the ex-vivo characterization of pulmonary tissue mechanics and the impact of surgical stapling on post-operative air leaks during thoracic resection. Her work has been published in the Journal of the Mechanical Behavior of Biomedical Materials and contributes to improving clinical outcomes in lung surgery.
